Green Technology
& Renewable Energy For a better and more sustainable world
Renewable energy is energy generated from natural
resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, biofuels,
hydrogen and geothermal heat. These sources are renewable, ie
naturally replenished.
Data* of the world's final energy consumption from 2006 showed
that:
►
18% come from renewables
►
13% come from traditional biomass such as wood-burning
►
3% come from hydroelectricity
►
1.3% come from solar hot water/heating
►
0.8% come from modern technologies such as biofuels, small
hydro, modern biomass, geothermal energy, wind power, solar
power & ocean energy.
We need to teach students and the younger generation to embrace
green technology. However, it would not be practical to educate
students in a hydropower plant or a large wind farm.
UTTS has classroom solutions for hands-on-training in renewable
energy. Modules or demo trainers, as well as online simulators,
equip students with cutting edge know-how in green technology.
